2026 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Full-Body PPF, Ceramic Coating & Custom Seat Wrap in Richmond, BC

Some of the most rewarding projects we complete are for clients who continue to trust us with each new vehicle they add to their collection.

This Ruby Star Neo Porsche 911 GT3 Touring marks the fourth vehicle we have protected for this particular client. Previously, our team worked on his Audi SQ7, Porsche Taycan Turbo S, and Porsche Cayenne GTS Coupe, with each receiving a similar combination of full-body paint protection film, ceramic coating, and window tint.

For his latest Porsche, however, the project became a little more special.

Along with comprehensive exterior protection, we helped solve a customization detail that could not be achieved through the vehicle’s original Porsche specification: colour-matched rear seat backs.

The complete project included:

  • Full-body XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film
  • XPEL PRIME XR PLUS ceramic window tint
  • XPEL Slate Smoke 30 protection film on the side markers
  • Ceramic coating application
  • Rear seat-back wrap using 3M 2080 High Gloss Ruby Rosso

The result combines long-term protection with a subtle custom detail designed to complement the GT3 Touring’s distinctive Ruby Star Neo exterior.

Protecting a Special Porsche From the Beginning

Vehicles like the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring are purchased to be driven and enjoyed, but that also means exposing valuable paintwork to the realities of everyday driving.

Rock chips, road debris, scratches, bug acids, environmental contamination, and regular washing can all gradually affect the vehicle’s finish.

For a highly specified vehicle in a distinctive colour such as Ruby Star Neo, protecting the original paint early in ownership can help preserve both its appearance and condition.

For this GT3 Touring, we installed XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film across the full exterior painted body.

Unlike partial-front PPF packages that focus primarily on high-impact areas, full-body PPF extends physical film protection across the vehicle. This is particularly beneficial on enthusiast vehicles where owners want to minimize the risk of damage throughout the entire exterior rather than only protecting the front end.

Why Full-Body PPF Makes Sense for a Porsche GT3 Touring

The low profile, wide bodywork, and performance-oriented nature of the 911 make several areas particularly susceptible to road wear.

The front bumper and hood face direct impacts from road debris, while the wide rear quarter panels can be exposed to debris thrown from the tires. Lower body sections and other painted surfaces are also vulnerable to scratches and everyday wear.

Paint protection film creates a sacrificial barrier between these hazards and the original paint underneath.

For this particular GT3 Touring, the clarity of the film was also important. Ruby Star Neo is a highly distinctive colour, and the objective was to protect the finish without taking away from its visual character.

A professionally installed gloss PPF allows the original paint colour and gloss to remain the focal point while adding a transparent layer of physical protection.

Solving a Porsche Customization Limitation

The most unique part of this project was not on the exterior of the car.

When configuring the GT3 Touring through Porsche, our client was unable to specify the rear seat-back covers in a colour matching the vehicle’s Ruby Star Neo exterior.

Rather than simply accepting the mismatch, we looked for another solution.

After comparing available materials against the vehicle’s paint, we selected 3M 2080 High Gloss Ruby Rosso vinyl, which provided an exceptionally close visual match to the Ruby Star Neo exterior.

The seat-back panels were removed so the vinyl could be properly installed around the individual components and contours.

This allowed us to transform the seat backs into a custom interior accent that visually ties the cabin back to the exterior specification.

It is a relatively subtle modification, but on a highly personalized Porsche build, details like these can make the finished vehicle feel considerably more complete.

Matching Ruby Star Neo With 3M High Gloss Ruby Rosso

Colour matching an existing automotive paint with vinyl can be challenging.

Lighting, metallic content, gloss level, and viewing angle can all influence how closely two colours appear to match. A vinyl that looks correct on a sample card may appear noticeably different once installed next to the actual vehicle.

For this project, the 3M 2080 High Gloss Ruby Rosso provided a remarkably close visual match to the Porsche’s Ruby Star Neo paint.

The finished seat backs now look as though the colour treatment could have been part of the vehicle’s original specification.

This project also demonstrates how automotive vinyl can be used for more than full vehicle colour changes. In the right application, it can provide a practical way to customize individual interior or exterior components without permanently modifying the original parts.

XPEL PRIME XR PLUS Ceramic Window Tint

We also installed XPEL PRIME XR PLUS ceramic window tint on the GT3 Touring.

Window tint is often selected for appearance, but premium ceramic window film provides functional benefits beyond simply darkening the glass.

XPEL PRIME XR PLUS is designed to provide strong heat and infrared rejection while helping reduce UV exposure inside the vehicle. For a performance vehicle with a carefully specified interior, this adds another layer of comfort and protection while giving the exterior a more finished appearance.

The tint complements the Ruby Star Neo paint and darker exterior accents without distracting from the overall design of the vehicle.

XPEL Slate Smoke 30 Side Marker Treatment

The factory side markers were also given a subtle visual update using XPEL Slate Smoke 30 headlight protection film.

Rather than replacing or permanently modifying the original lighting components, the tinted protection film creates a darker appearance while adding a protective film layer over the lenses.

On this GT3 Touring, smoking the side markers helps them blend more naturally into the overall exterior design and creates a cleaner appearance against the bright Ruby Star Neo body colour.

Small details like this can have a surprisingly significant effect on the overall presentation of a vehicle.

Ceramic Coating Over the Completed Vehicle

After the PPF and customization work were completed, we applied a professional ceramic coating to the vehicle.

PPF and ceramic coating perform different jobs and can work together as a complete vehicle protection system.

Paint protection film provides physical protection against impacts, scratches, and road debris.

Ceramic coating improves surface properties, including hydrophobic behaviour, ease of cleaning, and resistance to environmental contamination.

Applying ceramic coating over PPF can also make routine maintenance easier by helping water and contaminants release from the surface more readily.

For an enthusiast vehicle that is regularly driven, combining PPF with ceramic coating provides both physical paint protection and easier ongoing maintenance.

The Fourth Vehicle We’ve Protected for This Client

Perhaps the strongest endorsement of our work is when a client returns with their next vehicle.

This Porsche GT3 Touring is now the fourth vehicle we have worked on for this owner, following his:

  • Audi SQ7
  • Porsche Taycan Turbo S
  • Porsche Cayenne GTS Coupe

Each vehicle has received a comprehensive protection package built around full-body PPF, ceramic coating, and ceramic window tint.

When someone continues bringing their vehicles back to us, we also gain a better understanding of their expectations and preferences. That allows each new project to become more personalized.

With this GT3 Touring, that relationship went beyond simply repeating the same protection package. When the factory specification could not deliver the colour-matched seat backs the client wanted, our team was able to develop another solution that complemented the rest of the build.

Final Thoughts

This Ruby Star Neo Porsche 911 GT3 Touring was already a highly personalized vehicle when it arrived at our Richmond facility, but there was still an opportunity to make the specification more complete.

Full-body XPEL ULTIMATE PPF protects the original Ruby Star Neo paint. XPEL PRIME XR PLUS ceramic tint adds comfort and UV protection. Slate Smoke 30 film gives the side markers a more subtle appearance, while ceramic coating makes the completed vehicle easier to maintain.

And when Porsche’s original configuration options could not provide matching rear seat backs, 3M 2080 High Gloss Ruby Rosso gave us a solution that visually complements the exterior colour.

For us, this project represents what a complete vehicle protection service can look like: protecting the original vehicle, enhancing the ownership experience, and finding custom solutions when factory options fall short.

Four vehicles later, we’re grateful to continue being trusted with this client’s collection.
